One Person Killed in Clark County Accident

Monday, November 12th, 2018 -- 12:54 PM

-One person is dead after the truck they were driving was involved in a crash at the intersection of STH 95 and CTH J in the Township of Dewhurst.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office received a call of the crash at about 4:47 pm, on Friday November 9th, 2018. Initial investigation indicates a Jeep, being driven by a 54 years old male, was traveling north on CTH J and stopped for a stop sign at the intersection of STH 95. The Jeep then entered the intersection and pulled out in front of a milk truck being driven by Brandon Doebbert 22 yrs. old, that was traveling westbound.

The milk truck attempted to avoid the Jeep but struck its passenger side. The Jeep came to rest on its roof at the south-west corner of the intersection. The milk truck struck a road sign and came to rest in the north ditch. The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Schleifer. Failure to yield at a stop sign appears to be a factor in the accident.

The Jeep operator was from La Crosse and Brandon is from Trempealeau. Both drivers were alone in their vehicles and were wearing seatbelts.

The Hatfield First Responders and Black River Falls Ambulance Service responded to the scene with the Hatfield Fire Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Clark County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner Schleifer. The investigation is continuing by the Clark County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.

This is the 5th traffic fatality in Clark County for 2018.

The family has requested we not release the deceased operator’s name at this time.
