Some Statewide Election Results

-Taking a look at some statewide election results.For Governor, Republican Governor Scott Walker and Republican Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch received 48% of the votes over Democrat and State Schools Superintendent Tony Evers’ and Mandela Barnes’ 50% of the votes. After a close race all evening, Tony Evers was declared the winner in Wisconsin’s Governors race. For state senator, Senator Tammy Baldwin, a Democrat, won re-election by receiving 55% of the votes compared to her Republican opponent Leah Vukmir’s 45% of the votes. For the 7th Congressional District, Republican Assemblyman Sean Duffy won re-election by receiving 60% of the votes over his Democratic opponent, Margaret Engebretson’s 38% of the votes. Also, in another close race, Attorney General Brad Schimel, a Republican, lost his re-election bid by receiving 49% of the votes compared to Democrat Josh Kaul’s 50% of the votes for Attorney General; Republican Jay Schroeder received 47% of the votes compared to Democrat Doug La Follette’s 53% of the votes for Secretary of State; and Republican Travis Hartwig received 47% of the votes compared to Democrat Sarah Godlewski’s 51% of the votes for State Treasurer.
Some of the more local race results include Republican Kathy Bernier’s 59% of the votes compared to Democrat Chris Kapsner’s 41% of the votes for the 23rd Senate District which includes Clark County and the surrounding area. Kathy Bernier has won the election of the 23rd Senate District election. Jesse James, a Republican, has won the election for Bernier’s old assembly seat for the 68th District, which includes parts of Clark County, winning 58% of the votes over Democrat Wendy Sue Johnson’s 42%. Bob Kulp was easily re-elected to the 69th assembly district.
