Granton School Board's Annual Meeting

-The Granton School Board held their Annual Meeting and Special Meeting on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

During the Annual Meeting, Superintendent Scott Woodington presented the 2018-2019 school budget. The electorate approved the tax levy of $1,208,359 to operate the School District for the 2018-2019 school year. That money is broken down into $980,359 for the General Fund 10, $198,000 for Fund 39 Debt Retirement, and $30,000 for the Community Service Fund 80. The electorate approved the salaries of the school board members to stay the same and approved the resolution to provide milk at milk break for grades 4K-5th. The electorate also approved the resolution authorizing short term borrowing for cash and approved the resolution authorizing the sale of school district property. Mr. Woodington also provided a facility update.

The district painted the IMC and some classrooms, new carpet and tile was installed in the IMC, the fire panel was upgraded, the pool and locker rooms were completely remodeled, a new HVAC monitoring network was installed for the pool area, new lockers were installed in the locker rooms, a new ADA lift was installed on the pool deck, there are new boilers for the pool and there’s a new pool mechanical and filtering system. The pool and locker room is substantially complete. The budget was for $2,000,000 and the project expenditures are $1, 977,000. During the Special School Board meeting on Tuesday, the board approved the tax levy of $1,208,359 to operate the School District for the 2018-2019 school year.
