Foster Parents for Animals Needed

Animal shelters across Wisconsin are once again dealing with a rush of stray and surrendered animals, and are looking for people to foster some pets.
Angela Speed with the Wisconsin Humane Society says fostering an animal saves lives, and some of their best pet parents turn out to be fosters.
"One of the perks of becoming a foster parent for WHS is that you get first dibs on your foster animal! We also have a program in which you can adopt out your foster animal to your own network through your friends, co-workers, neighbors."
Speed says it's easy to apply to become a foster.
"You watch an online orientation course to learn about the process, then you fill out an application and we can set you up really fast with your first foster animal."
Speed says one specialized group of fosters helps take care of orphaned kittens who can't survive in a shelter environment.
"We do have a network of foster parents who will take those neonate kittens in and we set them up with all the supplies that they need: infant formula, heating pads, scales to measure their weights and make sure they're growing."
W H S is looking for people to foster adult dogs, alongside cats and kittens. Find out more online at W I Humane dot Org.
