The Clark County Agriculture Society has started the Fairgrounds Revitalization Project off with a donation of $25,000.Wayne Hendrickson, Secretary/Treasurer for Clark County Agriculture Society provided Natalie Erpenbach, Treasurer for Clark County Community Foundation, a $25,000.00 check for the Clark County Revitalization Project. Clark County Community Foundation is the fiscal sponsor for the project. The Clark County Fairgrounds, through the Clark County Forestry & Parks Department, has undertaken a new initiative, the Clark County Fairgrounds Revitalization Project, to address several issues and needs that have been identified in recent years. The Project calls for the construction or relocation of buildings, addressing capacity and accessibility issues, and creating more family-friendly green space. The two largest components of the Project include the construction of a new Multi-purpose Livestock Building, and new Multi-purpose Event Center at a projected cost of approximately $750,000 and $900,000 respectively.
A Fundraising Committee has been established to raise the funds needed to complete the construction of the two new buildings. All other Fairground Project improvements are being paid for by the Forestry and Parks Department through their annual budget process. The Clark County Community Foundation has been designated by Clark County to receive all donations (cash or in-kind) for this Project.
