Many Topics Discussed at Clark County Tourism Meeting

-The Clark County Tourism Committee discussed a wide variety of topics at their meeting on Wednesday.The committee spent a large amount of time talking about the success of The Highground’s 30th Anniversary and Yellow Ribbon Campaign on September 22nd. The Highground was very thankful of the support and help from the Clark County Economic Development Corporation and all those that helped in different areas with the event. They also had many, many positive comments from veterans and their families on the event. Many of the veterans were very touched to see the support they received from the communities and felt like they finally got the welcome home they never did. They also discussed a few remaining events The Highground has left this year and the events they have coming up next year. The committee also discussed the Fall Harvest Moon Tour and fall colors in correlation with tourism. They also discussed Small Business Saturday and shopping small this holiday season and promoting Christmas events in our communities.
They also discussed a Google Workshop on promoting small businesses and discussed the new visitor’s guide that work will begin on next year. They also discussed preparation for next year’s events like the Bloomin’ Greenhouse and Spring into the Arts Tour. They also discussed a bid for Farm Technology Days in Clark County. Finally, the discussed jobs numbers, hunting season, fall/winter fun, unemployment numbers and sales tax numbers in the county.
