Loyal School Board Approves a Couple Trips and More

-The Loyal School Board approved a couple trips at their meeting on Wednesday.The board approved a choir trip and a business student trip to Minneapolis. They also accepted a $250 donation from the Knights of Columbus and approved their basketball coaches, which is pretty much the same as last year with Varsity Boys’ being Dean Bogdonovich and Varsity Girls’ is Mike Rueth. They also approved Bugar Trucking to do their snow plowing this winter. The board also approved a tax levy of $1,700,991, with a mill rate of 8.49, and $1,840,991, with a mill rate 9.18. The one the district submits to the state will depend on the outcome of the referendum vote next month.
The board also discussed an informational meeting they have coming up for the community on October 24th at 7:30 pm to discuss the referendum. Finally, they approved the BEST screener again this year, the grant from Security Health; discussed phase 2 of the safety grant, primarily for a fence around the playground; renewed their property insurance; and had the second reading of a new bus policy.
