Several Marathon County School Districts Placed on Lockdown Tuesday Morning

-Several Marathon County School Districts went on lockdown yesterday morning after reports of a gun being pointed at a bus driver.According to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, around 11:15am, a caller reported someone was pointing a gun at a bus driver at the intersection of Fairview Road and Marathon County Highway P in the Town of Cleveland. The Sheriff’s Department and Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the incident and local police departments were sent to the schools to initiate lockdown procedures. However, authorities discovered that a company was shooting a documentary and the item in questions wasn’t a gun, but a microphone on a long pole. There was no threat to anyone.
The lockdown was lifted at the school districts. The districts’ that had been placed on lockdown included Stratford, Spencer, Edgar, Colby, Abbotsford, Athens and Marathon.
