Administrators' Reports at Greenwood School Board Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.District Administrator Todd Felhofer reported on some political items regarding school districts. He stated the Governor’s race looks like it will be a very close election. He also said the 3rd Friday Enrollment report was completed. District enrollment is down 36 students. Elementary enrollment is up 3. In reviewing the data, the district graduated a class of 43 and replaced it with a 7th grade class of 17. In addition, last year they saw 56 students open-enrollment out of the district. This year that numbers is down to 45. He also stated the District’s free and reduced lunch percentage is 60% and the Crystal Apple Teacher of the Year program kick-off was on September 27th. The Dig Pink Event was held October 4th during the volleyball game. More than $3,000 was raised to help a Spencer family whose 7th grader is battling brain cancer and to donate to cancer research.
A mad minute was also held during the volleyball game and the homecoming football game that raised another $1,600 for a Greenwood family battling cancer. Homecoming week was a great success from the Dodgeball Tournament held Sunday, September 30th to raise money to purchase a Legacy Stone at the High Ground, to the many activities of Spirit Week, to the pep rally, to the parade, to the game and dance. Finally, he mentioned the next High School Parents PAC meeting is scheduled for Wednesday November 14th at 6:00 pm.
