(Marshfield News Herald) -Aspirus will open a new primary care clinic in downtown Marshfield on Dec. 1, the health care system said Tuesday.
The clinic, which was initially set to open in mid-September, will be located at 146 N. Central Ave. in Founder’s Square, according to an Aspirus news release. For now, the space will include four exam rooms and will be staffed by two advanced practice clinicians. It will provide care for patients of all ages. This is Aspirus’ first facility in Marshfield. The nonprofit health system is based in Wausau and has clinics and hospital facilities in Stevens Point, Wisconsin Rapids and other communities throughout northern Wisconsin and in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
The clinic was planned prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Andy Napgezek, Aspirus’ communications director. Wisconsin's surge in COVID-19 cases has stretched other Aspirus facilities thin, however, and a new location will hopefully ease some of that pressure, he said.
