Field Trip and More at Granton's School Board Meeting

-The Granton School Board approved a field trip at their meeting on Monday.The board approved the choir field trip to Chanhassen Dinner Theatre. They also approved the invoices for work completed as part of the pool and locker room remodel and they approved the additional door change order to Rhom Construction. The board also approved the contract to Quality Door and Hardware for the Safety Grant secure entryway project and approved the pool hours and fees for adult and children for open swimming and classes. Finally, the board approved the new Child Care contracts for Ashley Magneson and Kayla Wagner and they approved the application for one student for early graduation. The board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Superintendent Scott Woodington reminded the board that the Annual Meeting is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Monday October 29th and the Special meeting will be held at 6:45 on October 30th.
He also reviewed the 2018-19 preliminary budget. He also stated the Department of Public Instruction is proposing an additional 1.4 billion dollars for K-12 education with $600,000 going toward special education. Finally, he stated the Community Eligibility Provision program has started the year with almost 90% of students being served in the district’s breakfast and lunch programs. In order to serve the increase in breakfast, the district has released students a few minutes earlier in order to serve all of the students and get them to class on time.
