Greenwood School Board Hears Information on Testing Results

-The Greenwood School Board heard testing results for the previous school year at their meeting on Monday.Administration presented the board with results from the 2017-18 school year for the Forward, ACT Aspire and ACT assessments. Areas highlighted included the improvement in district math scores on the Forward Test and concern regarding the reading scores on the ACT Aspire. It was also mentioned the District Report Card is currently embargoed and is scheduled for release on November 13th. The board also heard on update on the 2018-19 district budget. It included a review of the updated revenue limit worksheet reflecting the impact of the drop in enrollment. A special board meeting is scheduled for 6pm on October 22nd to approved the final mil rate and levy. The board also received a draft revision of policy 7455 Fixed Asset Accounting. This will be scheduled for a first reading at the November Board meeting.
Again, the district received a Round 2 DOJ school safety and security grant. Round 1 was amended. It removed the new classroom door handles from the grant. Instead, magnetic locks on exterior doors and a monitoring system will be installed. Classroom door handles will be addressed utilizing a different approach. Other projects from the Round 1 grant are being planned and scheduled. Finally, the board members received a copy of the District Administration Evaluation to be worked on individually prior to the November meeting.
