Greenwood School Board Discusses School Safety Grant

-The Greenwood School Board discussed the school safety grant at their meeting on Monday.The board accepted the DOJ School Safety and Security Grant in the amount of $21,532. They also approved the FFA Leadership trip to the 212/Edge Conference in Manitowoc on March 22nd-24th and they approved one volunteer. The board also heard from Mr. Saager, the art instructor, and Dakota Gorton, a student, as they presented to the board about the new Photography class. During the communications portion of the meeting, several parents shared comments and concerns about the future of Greenwood High School football. Parents were assured there would be no action taken to change the program without public input.
The board also heard a report from Elementary Principal Joe Green. He highlighted the elementary school’s recent ALICE drill, the Child development days for 4K and the addition of vision screening for students coming soon through a partnership with the Lions Club. A board member also shared some information regarding publishing meeting minutes.
