The Highground's Veterans Retreat in July

-The Highground held a Veterans Retreat July 13th-15th and it was weekend of fun, food and friendship.The retreat was hosted by The Highground and Wilderness Adventures. Veterans were able to enjoy several activities, great food and hospitality while in the company of fellow veterans. The goal of the weekend retreat was to offer veterans not only a chance to get first-hand experience with several activities that they could continue after the retreat, but, for those that may be working their way through issues such as PTSD, a chance to find new friendships, information, services and hobbies that they can carry forward with them. The retreat was free to the veterans thanks to many generous sponsors.
The veterans took part in many fun activities including archery, woodcarving, fishing, art and writing, music and more. Each veteran also received a gift basket of items they were able to use in conjunction with things they did over the weekend. The Highground has plans in motion for a total of three retreats next year including two for men. One will be July 12th-14th and the other will be September 13th-15th. Finally, a women’s retreat will be held on September 7th.
