Businesses in Central Wisconsin See Impact from Weekend ICE Raids

-Businesses in Central Wisconsin saw an impact on Monday after raids from immigration agents.The raids took place all over the state of Wisconsin with at least three immigrants arrested in the Abbotsford/Colby/Dorchester area. A representative from Abbyland Foods stated they saw an unusually high amount of absences of employees on Monday with 80 workers not showing up that day. However, they couldn’t confirm they were related to the ICE raids.
The people taken into custody had warrants out for their arrest, but the raids certainly put the Hispanic community on edge, with many fearful they could be targeted and afraid to leave their homes.
