Tax Levy Approved at Greenwood School District's Annual Meeting

Wednesday, September 26th, 2018 -- 10:15 AM

-The Greenwood School Board, and residents present, approved the tax levy and mil rate at Greenwood’s Annual School Board Meeting on Monday.

The board approved a tax levy of $2,223,506 for the General Fund, or Fund 10, and a tax levy of $15,000 for the Community Service Fund, or Fund 80. As with most districts, once state aid is certified, the district may need to adjust the levy. The projected mil rate for Greenwood is $10.43 per $100,000 worth of property. That’s down slightly from last year’s $10.55. The board salaries were also approved with the president earning $1,670 and all other members earning $1,370. The $125 per diem for board members was also approved.

Finally, the board approved several items including the sale of obsolete school district property, acquiring real estate through purchase or condemnation, the sale of school property, student accident insurance and they set the date for next year’s Annual School Board meeting.
