YMCA Expansion Holding Ribbon Cutting September 25th
Thursday, September 20th, 2018 -- 10:13 AM
-Phase One of the Marshfield Clinic Health System YMCA’s expansion and renovation project is complete. The Everett & Dolores Roehl Youth Center is now serving more children and youth through new licensed Child Care facilities including classrooms, kitchen and outdoor playground, along with a new School Age Center for youth with homework help and recreation opportunities. An important aspect of this project is the strategic partnerships that were formed to help carry out the mission of the YMCA. Through partnerships, more people in the greater Marshfield community will have access to a full range of opportunities to improve their quality of life. A partnership with Marshfield Clinic Health System Youth Net is now offering after school programming, providing children early access to sound health care, intellectual and social stimulation and recreation.
Investing community resources in early childhood education was the focus of the Y’s partnership with Wood County Head Start. The Y has also coordinated efforts with other local organizations and expanded services and offerings, including the Marshfield School District’s Alternative School. The public is welcome to join them in celebrating this grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony. All organizations within the Youth Center will be available for tours. The ribbon cutting is being held on Tuesday, September 25th with the ceremony at 12:30pm. Tours and refreshments will follow from 1pm-3pm.
