Administrators' Reports at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting last week.Elementary Principal Lance Batchelor discussed the start of the school year including open house, highly encouraged summer school and the first day of school. The school has received a tremendous amount of school supplies to help students and Mr. Batchelor extended a thank you to all the organizations and businesses that donated. The 32nd Annual Grandparents Day was Friday, September 14th from 1:30PM to 2:30PM. A thank you was provided to the staff members who put in the time and effort to plan this event each year. Picture day is Wednesday, September 19th. And, congratulations to Mr. Wolff and Miss Kadolph for successfully procuring funding for projects through the Donors Choose program. Mr. Wollf will be able to purchase some flexible seating for his room, and Miss Kadolph will purchase a classroom set of a novels she wants to teach.
Jr./Sr. High School Dean of Students Julie Van Ark also discussed the start to the school year, including the open house and 7th grade orientation. She wants to thank students, parents and staff for participating. Homecoming is this week. Mrs. Scheuer and Mrs. Finkelson will be taking a group of 38 students to see As You Like It in Spring Green on September 19th. Finally, Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, October 1st from 4PM??"8PM. District Administrator Bob Houts reminded them the district will need to go to referendum in April to reauthorize the revenue limit override that was passed 5 years ago. Over the next couple of months, decisions will need to be made regarding length of the override and the amount to put before the voters for approval.
