Tuesday, September 18th, 2018 -- 8:05 AM

(Marshfield News Herald) -The Marshfield Clinic Health System anticipates laying off 25 workers as of Nov. 17, according to notice given to state officials.

All affected employees have been notified of their separation dates, and all layoffs are expected to be done by Nov. 17, according to a letter sent to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development dated Sept. 17. All 25 positions are based in the city of Marshfield. The list of workers being laid off includes four additional employees who were laid off in August. The 29 positions include 16 medical transcriptionists, a director, assistant director, manager, assistant manager, appointment secretary, prosthetist, medical secretary, appointment secretary and appointment manager.

Marshfield Clinic finalized its purchase of Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield on July 1, 2017. The hospital, which at the time of purchase employed about 1,200 people, became the Marshfield Medical Center. The notice does not say whether any of the layoffs are from the Medical Center.
