Neillsville City Council Hears Public Works Report

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works Report at their meeting last week.The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, mowing, weed trimming, cleaning up storm damage, equipment maintenance, trimming and pruning trees, maintaining street lighting, filling pot holes, hauling brush and compost, street sweeping and more. It was also mentioned that the FEMA project at 822 Grand Avenue is completed and the fountain has been removed for the year from O’Neil Creek. The council also heard the Personnel Committee Report from August 28th. The salaries of city employees was discussed and they will be taken into consideration during the budget process.
The council heard the report from the Parks and Recreation Board meeting held on September 5th. A list of programs run by the Parks and Rec Department was provided. They also presented their 2019 budget. Finally, the council heard the Historic Preservation Commission Report from Thursday, September 6th. They discussed the 2019 calendars, the 2018 Christmas Tour, the Fall State Meeting and asking for $1,900 for their 2019 budget.
