Granton Village Board Discusses New Equipment

Monday, September 17th, 2018 -- 8:02 AM

-The Granton Village Board discussed purchasing a Locate Machine and a Waste Water Camera at their meeting last week.

According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the village belongs to Rural Water and they will borrow out their cameras at no charge so the board agreed there is no need to purchase a camera at this time and they will get a quote for the locator for the next meeting. The board also discussed the back hoe purchase. Kuhl is working on a proposal to sell the village their backhoe and take the village’s backhoe in trade. Tractor Central is also researching other options. This was tabled until there is more information. The board approved the Joint Library Contract to continue. They also approved working with the Neillsville Improvement Corporation on the Rails to Trails project. Budget planning for the village will begin on October 25th and the Budget Hearing will be Nov 15th at 6:30pm.

Also noted is the October board meeting will be moved to Thursday, Oct 18th to accommodate vacations. Finally, a resident addressed the board regarding Ordinance 123 that prohibits mobile home trailers from being brought into the village. The board agreed to allow the double wide trailer provided Schutz get a building permit, install the trailer on a permanent concrete slab, and remove the axles and wheels making it a permanent structure.
