Sunday, September 16th, 2018 -- 9:30 AM
Central Wisconsin residents can enjoy free music and food Saturday, Sept. 29, at Wenzel Family Plaza in Marshfield while learning how they can be part of the national All of Us Research Program at Marshfield Clinic Research Institute. The event, from 2:30-5 p.m., will feature live music by the Pointless Brothers, and free food and ice cream will be provided by Marshfield Clinic Research Institute. Attendees have the opportunity to win prizes while playing interactive games centered around the concept of precision medicine. All of Us staff will be on hand throughout the event to answer questions about the research program and explain why precision medicine is important to central Wisconsin. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) recently launched the All of Us Research Program, which is a historic research effort to gather data from one million or more people living in the U.S., to accelerate research and improve health.
By taking into account individual differences in lifestyle, environment and biology, researchers will uncover paths toward delivering precision medicine. The Research Institute has been chosen as an enrollment partner in this program. In case of rain, the event will be moved to the Chestnut Center for the Arts in Marshfield.
