Owen-Withee School Board Hears Summer School Report

The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Summer School Report at their meeting on Monday.District Administrator Bob Houts reported to the board that the district had enough participation in summer school this year to add 19 students to their enrollment. The DPI allows the district to count those students as 40% full time students for state aid purposes which increases out enrollment by 8 students. Mr. Houts also mentioned some alumni that will be inducted into the district’s Hall of Fame. Mr. Norbert Pabich and Mr. Brian Bredlau will be inducted into the Owen-Withee Hall of Fame on Friday, September 21st at 1:00 PM as part of the Homecoming activities.
Mr. Houts also provided some preliminary 2018-19 budget information. The budget for 2018-19 has been balanced with $6,545,466 in revenues and $6,537,507 in expenditures. The district will see an adjustment/reduction to the tax of levy of nearly $200,000 due to not making a debt payment for the Act 32, Energy Efficiency projects, in the 2016-17 school year. This means the fund balance will be reduced by that $200,000 adjustment.
