Clark County Board of Supervisors Heard Presentations to Begin Meeting Thursday

Saturday, September 15th, 2018 -- 6:46 AM

The Clark County Board of Supervisors heard a couple presentations to begin their meeting on Thursday.

The board heard an update on the county’s Communications Upgrade Project. They also heard the 2017 Social Services Annual Report and an update from the Library Committee. The board also approved a resolution authorizing participation in the County Conservation Aids Program/Fish and Wildlife Project. The county is able to receive funds for being a part of this program. The county also approved a resolution offering condolences to the Roger Alger Family. Roger was a former Clark County Board member.

The board approved the sale of 1.77 acres of land in the Town of Dewhurst for $4,000 an acre and approved the sale of .08 acres of land in the City of Owen for $1,500.

There was one resolution that was tabled during the meeting. The resolution would have designated an official newspaper for the county. Due to the county’s size, state statute only allows them to designate one newspaper as the official newspaper for the county. Since the 1970’s, Clark County has been designating 6 newspapers as the official newspaper for the county. The resolution called for the Clark County Press to be the official newspaper for the county, but it was tabled
