Neillsville City Council Approves Donations and More

-The Neillsville City Council approved a few items at their meeting on Tuesday.The council approved the distribution of $1,000 from the Listeman Funds to be used for Christmas decorations. They also approved a $30 donation from a resident for the Neillsville Police Department’s K9 Fund. Finally, they approved the resignation of a member of the Beautification Committee. The council also held a Finance Committee Meeting right after the Common Council Meeting on Tuesday. During that meeting the council instructed all departments to hold the line on their budget as they strive to have a $0 increase budget for the next year.
The also reviewed the salaries of city employees for the next year and set the schedule for their Finance Committee Meetings at the beginning of October. Also, during the appearance portion of the meeting, a resident spoke suggesting the city do some type of training or PSA regarding community involvement in City Council Meetings. She cited the previous meeting as an example, that, of the many people that were there, they wanted to speak, but didn’t know when it was appropriate for them to do so.
