Administrators' Reports at Greenwood School Board Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.Elementary Principal Joe Green provided a recap for the board on the start of the school year at the elementary school. The building looks great and new staff members are settling in. He said there was a small issue with bus drop-off on the first morning, but the issue was resolved quickly. Athletic Director and Dean of Students Jenny Mayenschein's Report was reviewed with the board by District Administrator Todd Felhofer. For fall sports participation the High School Football Team has 23 players, 3 out with injuries; High School Volleyball has 26 players; High School Cross Country has 10 runners; Middle School Volleyball has 19 players; Middle School Football has 10 players and this is co-op with Loyal; and Middle School Cross Country has 4 runners. The administration will continue to review and assess the future of the HS football program.
She also reported that Student Activities for Homecoming Week are being held October 1st-6th. There will be a Disney theme this year. The parade is on Friday, October 5th; the game is on Friday, October 5th; and the dance is Saturday, October 6th. More details and times will be announced. Finally, Mr. Felhofer stated the buildings looked great for the start of the year. He also stated an all school assembly was held on the first day to review with students the change in the cell phone usage policy, changes in the RICE (intervention) program, new safety and security measures underway, and the expectations for student behavior, attitude and effort.
