Granton School Board Approves Invoices for Pool and Locker Room Project

-The Granton School Board approved some invoices regarding their pool and locker room project at their meeting on Monday.The board approved the invoices for work completed as part of the pool and locker room remodel. They also approved the air handler change order to Complete Control, approved the additional wiring change order to TJ Electric, approved the overnight middle school field trip and approved the out of state field trip to the National FFA Convention. The board also heard the Administrators’ Report. Newly hired Principal Amanda Kraus updated the board on a good start to the school year. She also stated that Mrs. Julie Kayhart will be filling in as band instructor with Mrs. Kraus’s help until a new band instructor is hired at the end of the first semester when new band instructors graduate.
Superintendent Scott Woodington updated the board on the pool. He said the pool is nearing completion and the ribbon cutting and open swim on August 29th from 6-8pm was a big success. Many community members were in attendance for the ribbon cutting ceremony and enjoyed the free open swim. Also, two contractors are submitting quotes to do the secure entrances at the elementary school and middle/high school for the first phase of the school safety grant. Finally, he stated that three board members will be attending the Wisconsin Association of School Boards Regional Meeting on September 25th in Wausau.
