Greenwood School Board Approves Changes to Handbook Language

Thursday, September 13th, 2018 -- 9:05 AM

-The Greenwood School board approved some changes to their handbook language at their meeting on Monday.

The board approved MS/HS handbook language regarding behavior and conduct while a member of a school club or an organization. The board also approved the Volunteer/Chaperone flyer, approved the 2018-19 district priorities and approved a revised district administrator evaluation form and process. District Administrator Todd Felhofer also provided an overview of the grant request for Round 2 of the DOJ school safety and security grants. The grant was submitted on August 30th. Mr. Felhofer also stated that all staff positions are filled and the board approved the removal of antiquated language in the Mentor/Mentee Handbook. This removal was the result of a change in state law.

The board also heard a committee report. A joint meeting of the Buildings and Grounds and Transportation and Safety Committees met on August 30th. Concept plans for making the main entrances at both schools more secure were reviewed with an architect from SDS. The next step is to have a mechanical system assessment. A follow-up on summer projects and an update on the Begley Street construction project were also provided.
