Greenwood School Board Accepts Grant and More at Monday Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board accepted a grant at their meeting on Monday.The board accepted a REAP Grant in the amount of $20,437. They also approved the employment of Jenny Halopka as a Substitute teacher and assistant. The board approved the FFA trip to the FFA National Convention in Indianapolis October 23rd-28th. School Board members, administration and community members also traveled to the Tech Education Department to look at the new equipment on the CVTC Technology Education trailer. The board also heard that the district’s summer school attendance equaled 12 full time students for general aid purposes.
An update on the 2018-19 district budget was also provided including a review of the revenue limit worksheet. Administration shared with the board the need to consider an increase in the Fund 80 levy. Fund 80 is used to support the Community Fitness Center, Summer Recreation and Kids Club afterschool program. The board also approved the 2018-19 Liability Insurance package to include an increase in the cybersolutions coverage from $100,000 to $250,000. Overall premiums are down slightly from last year.
