First Day at Marshfield's New City Hall a Success
Tuesday, September 11th, 2018 -- 8:39 AM
(WDLB) -The first day is in the books at Marshfield’s new city hall. City Clerk Deb Hall said the day got busy just as soon as the doors opened for the first time at 7:30."Things seemed to go very well. We started our new office hours from 7:30am-4:30pm. We did have people show up shortly after we opened the doors. They said they liked our new hours because they could drop things off on their way to work. So, they seemed to like it. And it was one stop shopping. We're all up front so they didn't have to worry about what floor to go to. So, they seemed to all like it."
City government in Marshfield has moved across the street from the current City Hall Plaza, and is now in the former Forward Bank building at 207 West Sixth. The new facility combines six floors of offices into one.
"Every department is really represented out front. We have the Municipal Court Clerk. And we have the Administrative Assistant to the Mayor and City Administrator. And then we have the Finance Department and City Clerk, Public Works as well as Development Services. All of those ladies are right out front to be able to handle any questions and help with the customers that come in for their departments."
The office hours at the new city hall are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. And the new city hall hosted its first government meeting last night, when the Cable T.V. Committee met at 5:30.
