The Highground Looking for Volunteers for 30th Anniversary Celebration and Yellow Ribbon Campaign

Tuesday, September 4th, 2018 -- 8:58 AM

-The Highground is in need of volunteers for their 30th Anniversary Celebration of The Highground and the Yellow Ribbon Campaign.

They need help in several areas including with the yellow ribbon vehicle parade through Neillsville on Saturday, September 22nd prior to the ceremony at The Highground. They need help with the logistics of the parade which includes line-up, traffic control, parking at The Highground and small yellow ribbons for each vehicle. People are supposed to register for the parade so they can get an idea on the number of vehicles. The Highground is encouraging buses and would also like to line up some buses that they can use. They also need help with car parking and golf car shuttling on the 22nd at The Highground for the event. They need help with exhibit and tent set-up and overnight honorary guards at The Highground September 21st-23rd. This will also include planning around the Huey landing site with the car parking crew and assistance in preparing the “people-free” perimeter prior to the Huey landing. This also includes planning for the food service in the evening of September 22nd. They also need help with the ceremony coordination on September 22nd, which includes checking in ceremony personnel like music, speakers, color guards, Rolling Thunder group, etc. and getting everyone into place at the right time.

They need help with photography for every part of the weekend. They would like at least two photographers at everything. They need help with family events at The Highground on the 22nd. This includes coordinating face painting, create a scavenger hunt around The Highground, kid-friendly exhibits and activities, like making cards for veterans homes, deployed, or Highground veteran visitors, etc. They also need help with the set up of the Kokosz Family Big Raffle and Hot Dog Sale on the 22nd. There could also be some set up for that on Friday the 21st. Finally, they need concert help from start to finish. The concert is in the evening of the 22nd and you would be coordinating with the music groups to help with whatever they need. If you can help in anyway or would like more information, please contact Theresa Hebert at 715-743-4224 or [email protected].
