Granton School District Completes Pool Project

-The Granton School District celebrated the completion of their pool project with a ribbon cutting ceremony and free swim on Wednesday afternoon.According to Granton Superintendent Scott Woodington, the renovation included some additional structural repair on areas of the pool that had deteriorated over the years due to the chlorine and humidity. The pool drain pipe was replaced along with the pool filters, pipes, and mechanical equipment including new boilers. The locker rooms were completely redone with new bathroom and shower fixtures. New lockers were also installed in the locker rooms. The lobby bathrooms were renovated along with adding a new family bathroom. The concession area was also completely redone.
The Granton community passed the referendum last October for borrowing $2,000,000 to renovate the pool and locker room area. The project is substantially complete, with a couple small items yet to be completed. They have already included everything in the budget and the project has been completed under budget. The pool is used for physical education classes and swimming lessons.
