Special Committee to Review Frac Sand Mine Near Marshfield

(WRN, Terry Bell) -A special committee will review a frac sand mine proposed near Marshfield.Sand and Carbo Ceramics has applied for permits to mine property in the Wood County Town of Rock. A citizen's committee will have two months to approve, reject, or amend the permits. The town's planning and zoning committee would then vote on the proposal.
The proposal says the site would be mined for 10 to 14 years, and then be turned into a large public lake.
