Greenwood School Board Hears Buildings and Grounds Update

-The Greenwood School Board heard updates regarding the buildings and grounds at their meeting on Monday.The board was presented with an update on summer projects. The district will also be submitting a grant for the DOJ’s 2nd round of school safety and security grants and the specifics are still being worked on. The board also reviewed some initial drafts of plans to make the main entrances of the schools more secure. This will be followed up on in a buildings and grounds committee meeting. The board also heard the committee and administrators’ reports. A committee report on CESA 10’s annual meeting was given.
Elementary Principal Joe Green provided a recap for the board on Summer School and the Summer Rec programs. The Kids Club afterschool program will run only Monday-Thursday in 2018-19. The reason for this change was the very low attendance on Fridays. Elementary staff will complete professional development in writing, math, technology, and data analysis by the start of school.
