John Spiros Wins Primary Over Brent Jacobsen

(WDLB) -John Spiros of Marshfield has survived a primary election. The Republican from Marshfield defeated challenger Brent Jacobsen on Tuesday, in the state Assembly’s 86th district."Just humbled by the voters who showed up and showed their support for me; who continue to put their trust in me. So, from that stand point, it's overwhelming."
The former Marshfield Alderman said his message of lower taxes resonated with the voters of the 86th district.
"Those are words that you always hear from me. I want to make sure that we're cutting taxes, not raising taxes and doing things from the standpoint of taking care of our taxpayers. I think that was a big piece of it. I know when I talked to people at their doors, that was something that resonated well with them. I think that they've seen what I've done in the state and I do work hard for them. And I think, with that, that helps a great deal."
Spiros will now face Democrat Nancy Stencil in the general election in November. Stencil was unopposed on the Democratic ticket in the Tuesday Primary.
