Colby School District Asks Colby Businesses to Work with them for School Activities
Wednesday, August 15th, 2018 -- 10:33 AM
-The Colby School District is asking Colby businesses to work with them when it comes to supporting school activities. This came about because an out of state company is soliciting Colby businesses to support school activities "on behalf" of the advisor/coach/organization. Colby Superintendent Steve Kolden stated these have NOT been approved. Colby School Board Policy 374 requires "all fundraisers must be approved in advance in writing by the activities director or principal". The Colby Administration is committed to working with local business to every extent possible. The district said that solicitation from a "company" asking businesses to support the district’s organizations is not an appropriate way to do business and the district requests businesses support.
They ask that if you are not approached directly from a staff member or student, who has identified themselves as a member of a specific organization, please do not contribute. If you have any questions on the legitimacy of any fundraiser, please do not hesitate to contact the Colby School District.
