Medford Woman Charged with Theft of a Business Appears in Taylor County Court

-A Medford woman charged with theft of a business setting after stealing from the restaurant where she worked appeared in Taylor County Court on Thursday.According to court records, an investigation began after management noticed a high number of voided transactions during Jamie Johnson’s shift, including 15 back-to-back voided transactions that totaled almost $200 on January 11th of this year. Investigators said the restaurant’s records showed there were $14,536 in voided sales in 2015, $19,869 in 2016, $29,760 in 2017 and already $652 in 2018. In all, Johnson stole more than $64,000 from the restaurant.
Johnson was terminated and she’s facing charges of theft in a business setting and destroying data. During her court appearance on Thursday, she waived her preliminary hearing and entered a not guilty plea to the charges against her.
