Jackson County Man Appears in Court for Hitting a Woman with his Car

-A Jackson County man arrested after running over a woman with his vehicle and fleeing the scene appeared in Jackson County Court on Tuesday.According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, back in April, Cody Winneshiek-Kish ran over a woman in the Town of Brockway, just outside Black River Falls. Winneshiek-Kish claimed that the woman had threatened his mother and hit him with a metal pipe. He said the woman was standing in front of his vehicle when he tried to get away and he hit her several times. The woman was taken to the hospital for multiple injuries.
During his court appearance on Tuesday, he waived his preliminary hearing and entered not guilty pleas to the charges against him, which include hit and run and bail jumping. He’s scheduled for a plea/sentencing hearing next month.
