Medford Man Sentenced for Sexual Assault

-A Medford man charged for sexually assaulting a mentally ill woman was sentenced in Taylor County Court on Wednesday.According to court records, Michael Ruch told investigators that he had a consensual relationship with the woman. The victim stated that Ruch would take her out of the mental health facility for one-on-one visits and that's when the assaults would occur. The victim also stated that he would threaten her with a gun if she didn't cooperate.
Ruch was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, 4th degree sexual assault and resisting or obstructing an officer. Another charge was deferred by the courts. He was sentenced to 2 years’ probation with a condition of 5 months jail time. He also owes the courts $352.
