Granton Village Board Hears Water Report

-The Granton Village Board heard the Water Report at their meeting on Wednesday of last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the department replaced several water meters this month, new bolts were replaced on the hydrant on Main Street and Ayers Associates had them locate and expose the test well on the contaminated property. They also worked with the waste water operator to empty the lift station basket, exercise the generator, raise the manhole cover at the park, empty and clean the porta potties and launched the pontoon in the pond to unplug the line. Also, the concession stand bathrooms have new doors and the campground sign was installed. Finally, the park was cleaned up after the Park Picnic, storm debris was cleaned up after the last storm and equipment maintenance was completed on the dump truck, which include a new thermostat, a radiator repair, and repair to the strobe light.
The board also heard the Waste Water Operator Report. The septic pond drain was cleaned out, the porta potties were emptied after the Park Picnic and the manhole cover at the park was raised. Also, water meters were read and repairs were done on the Chlorine Pump at well 4. A new culvert was also placed by the shooting range. Finally, several new trees were planted in the campground and park, the inside of the concession stand bathrooms were painted, the concession stand and pavilion now have a new roof and the yield sign on 1st Street was repaired and replaced.
