Stratford Man Sentenced for High Speed Chase Near Spencer

-A Stratford man, arrested after a high speed chase north of Spencer, was sentenced in Clark County Court on Tuesday.Back in December of 2016, the Loyal Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding, but the operator refused to stop and began a high speed chase with the officer. The Clark County Sheriff’s Department then assisted with the chase. The chase ended after the vehicle hit another vehicle on Highway 13 north of Spencer. At that time, the driver, Eric Sutton, surrendered. His passenger, Brittany Sather, ran when the car stopped, but was located a short while later.
Back in May, Sutton was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, 7th OWI and 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety. Several other charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison and 3 years extended supervision. He must also have an ignition interlock device for 36 months and he owes the courts $2,232. Sather was sentenced in March of last year.
