(WRN, Raymond Neupert) -A small outbreak of whooping cough has hit the Pittsville area in Wood County.A small outbreak of whooping cough has hit the Pittsville area in Wood County. Health officers with Wood County say most of the cases have been mild thanks to proper immunizations in the patients. Public health nurse Melony Johnson says people who do feel sick need to rest and keep themselves away from others as much as they can.
"It's also transmitted by droplets, so coughing and sneezing, those need to be covered and hands washed frequently."
She says they usually see an outbreak like this once a year.
