Junior Fair Day to Kick Off Central Wisconsin State Fair in Marshfield

(WDLB) -Something called “Junior Fair Day” will kick off this year’s Central Wisconsin State Fair in Marshfield. Manager Dale Christiansen says the focus that day will be solely on the Junior Fair, meaning the carnival rides won’t run that day.Christiansen says the fair is now working with North American Midway Expositions, a large amusement company with five or six different units. The unit that will be setting up in Marshfield will come directly from the Indiana State Fair, and will have higher quality rides, and will be a large update in equipment.
Christiansen says the first day of the fair will be half-priced. That had traditionally been done on the final day, which was always Labor Day. So the fair will be kicking off on Tuesday, August 21st with “Junior Fair Day”, featuring half-priced adult gate admittance, with children 12 and under being admitted for free.
And with that will come a full day of activities, including a high dive act never seen here before, day-long events in the free Family Tent, and demonstrations and educational exhibits in the new “Wonders of Wisconsin” tent. In the grandstand that night will be the highly-acclaimed acappella group “Six Appeal”. Grandstand seating is free and track-side seating is still available for five-dollars per person.
