Owen City Council Discusses 10th Street Project

-The Owen City Council discussed the 10th Street Project at their meeting last week.The council approved to move forward with the 10th Street Project at a cost of $20,980 as presented to the council by Cedar Corporation. The council also awarded Cedar Corp the Owen Manufacturing VPLE Project at a cost of $28,300. The council also approved some operator’s licenses and heard some concerns, again, from a city resident. Finally, the council heard the Community Development Authority’s Report. Director Tim Swiggum reported that Kevin Wyeth’s help with the video presentation for the city booth at Farm Tech Days turned out exceptionally well.
He also stated that the Joint of Review Board for TIF’s 3 and 4 was conducted meeting the new state requirements. Heartland rail spur changes have been sent to CN and he met with Quality Roasting on Wednesday of last week to discuss their rail spur.
