Menomonie Man Arrested for 4th OWI Near Black River Falls Sentenced

-A Menomonie man arrested after running from officers near Black River Falls was sentenced in Jackson County Court on Friday.According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, back in March, troopers from Northwest Region, Eau Claire Post arrested Jared Knutson for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, 4th offense. Knutson was traveling west bound on I-94 near Millston, when he rear ended another vehicle. The lead vehicle collided with several trees and came to a stop in the median. Knutson’s vehicle entered the ditch and started on fire. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. Knutson fled the crash scene on foot, but was taken into custody a short distance from the crash scene without incident.
During his court appearance on Monday of last week, Knutson waived his preliminary hearing and, during arraignment, he entered a guilty to plea a charge of 4th OWI. Three other charges were dismissed and read in. Knutson is already in jail for a case in Eau Claire County. He also had his license revoked for 36 months and he’ll have an ignition interlock device on his vehicle for 36 months.
