Local Payments for Transportation Aid

-Governor Scott Walker announced that local governments received quarterly payments this week totaling $145,978,567 for General Transportation Aids, Connecting Highway Aids and Expressway Policing Aids from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.In 2018, local governments will receive $40 million more than last year in General Transportation Aids. July payments to Wisconsin’s 1,925 local units of government include: $142,706,717 in General Transportation Aids; $3,015,875 to 117 municipalities entitled to receive Connecting Highway Aids; and $255,975 to Milwaukee County for Expressway Policing Aids. Taking a look at some of the local amounts, Clark County will receive $369,234; Stanley will receive $56,429; Curtiss will receive $2,795; Dorchester will receive $18,313; Granton will receive $7,343; $6,083 for Withee; $37,211 for Abbotsford and $43,194 for Colby.
Greenwood will receive $26,692; Loyal will receive $21,902; $14,417 for City of Owen; $31,495 for Thorp; and Neillsville will receive $39,052. Neillsville will also receive $5,536 in connecting highway aid. Each township in the county will receive some funds as well.
