Milkster Nitrogen Creamery Open for Business in Marshfield

(Marshfield News Herald) -You don't typically associate lasers and smoke with getting a cup of ice cream, but you can get just that in Marshfield.Milkster Nitrogen Creamery opened up less than a month ago inside Biggby Coffee. The cups of ice cream are handmade in front of the customer with cream, nitrogen and assorted toppings. The process combines the cream with rapid-freeze nitrogen at negative 321 degrees, which instantly freezes the cream, creating a mist that rolls out of the mixing bowl as it freezes. Marshfield Biggby owner Tom Belongia says that the quality of ice cream is what sets Milkster Nitrogen Creamery apart from store bought ice cream. Customers can order from 11 flavors of ice cream and choose from seven toppings, including strawberry sauce, cocoa powder, crushed Oreos and Nutella. Belongia says the flavors will be changed out every couple months.
Belongia says be believes Milkster Nitrogen Creamery is the only nitrogen ice cream store in Wisconsin, and it is the third nationally in a Biggby Coffee, part of a company-wide initiative. Belongia also owns the Wausau and Rib Mountain Biggby locations and said he plans to bring nitrogen ice cream there as well.
