Employment Matters at Neillsville School Board Meeting

-The Neillsville School Board discussed employment matters at their meeting on Monday.

The board approved the hiring of Kari Begert for a food service position, Brian Thell for an elementary music teaching position, Taylor Olson for an elementary teaching position, Reed Lehman for an elementary teaching position, Jesse Bernhagen for a social studies teaching position, Josh Zahl for a social studies teaching position and Carly Kuran for an English teaching position. The board also approved the principal contract for Scott Schiller, the principal contract for Craig Anderson and the administrative contract for John Gaier. Also, the board approved the bonus pay of $600 for Kate Mueller for her middle school softball coaching position. The board also approved the Certified Staff Handbook updates for the 2018-2019 school year, the Support Staff Handbook updates for the 2018-2019 school year and the Confidential Staff Handbook updates for the 2018-2019 school year. The board also approved the confidential staff wages for the 2018-2019 school year.

Finally, the board approved the resignation of Dessa Karl from her social studies teaching position, Alaric Huls from his social studies teaching position, Jordan Jacobsen from his special education teaching position, Ben Perushek from his English teaching position and Sam Plasch from her elementary art teaching position. The board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. District Administrator John Gaier reported on a mailing sent to district parents, an article about Medford schools, a WASB update, the final bill for the hockey co-op, an article regarding poverty in the United States, one Focus article and the CESA 10 Annual Convention. He also reported on a WASB School Safety Seminar, the security film specifications for the school safety project, an update on the greenhouse project, an update on the baseball field upgrades and three articles from the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty.
