Marshfield Common Council Meetings Starting Earlier
Friday, June 29th, 2018 -- 9:12 AM
(WDLB) -Marshfield Common Council meetings will start one hour earlier beginning in August, under an ordinance adopted by city aldermen Tuesday night. The Council voted 9-to-1 in favor of moving the start time of Common Council meetings from 7 p.m. to 6 p.m. Alderman Chris Jockheck was the only Council member to vote against the plan.
Chris: "6 o'clock is just way too early. People that have to work, people that are coming to the meeting, wanting to engage, it's going to be difficult for them. Those of us that do work, 4 of us do, for some of us it gets to be a burden to be able to get home, change, grab a bite to eat for what will still be a 2.5 to 3 hour meeting."
A motion to amend the ordinance to implement a starting time of 6:30 failed. So, beginning August 14th, Marshfield Common Council meetings will start at 6:00 p.m.
