Growth and Expansion at Gross Motors

-Gross Motors’ expansion project is progressing nicely.I spoke with Mike Gross on Thursday of last week. Mike talked about how the project began.
"Basically, where we started is we bought the Ford Store in Spencer in May of 2017. Initially, the thought was that we'd build a new Ford store in Neillsville here. Cenex went out of business and called us to see if we'd be interested in the land. We purchased that as it's adjoined to us. In the meantime, Craig Sigurdsun down at Urban's turned 65 in May and was getting ready for retirement and we hadn't started construction yet and Ford and Chrysler would allow us to build one joint facility, so it just made sense to put the two of them together and have a nice Ford/Chrysler facility here in Neillsville."
With the purchasing of Urban’s, this has greatly expanded Gross’ inventory.
"It's nice for us to have more offerings. It's taken a little bit to get use to as we've been General Motors since 1956. So, walking in that first day definitely felt strange. But we're starting to get used to it and, luckily, we had Craig's employees at Urban's stay with us and he had some really good employees that have helped us quit a bit."
Mike also talked about what’s happening with some of their other facilities, including the one in Black River Falls.
"We added Chrysler down there and our facility down there should be done July 2nd. So, we're looking forward to having that one finished up as well. That'll be a full Chrysler, Jeep, Doge, Ram sales/service facility right next to our existing GM dealership."
Mike ended our interview by talking about the excitement of Gross’ continued growth and expansion.
"We're excited for the growth and expansion. We're also excited to have the facilities done and maybe not have a little growth and expansion for a while! But really, I think for all the communities we're in, Neillsville, Black River Falls, Marshfield, Spencer, I think the nice thing is we're definitely going to have some job growth in all these communities. And we're also adding quit a bit to the tax base in the communities. So, we're excited for it, but also I think it is a nice thing for these communities, these smaller communities that we live in that brings in a little extra business in each one of those communities. So, we're happy to be a part of that as well."
Make sure to stop by one of Gross Motors’ locations to check out their expanded inventory and congratulate them on their growth.
